Madonna did not issue order to make TIFF volunteers look away

TORONTO, Ont. – It appears Madonna got a bad rap, but this time, it wasn’t her fault.

A private security firm was responsible for making volunteers look away at a Toronto International Film Festival news conference for the superstar.

The gossip was insane after an incident that saw TIFF volunteers being told to turn away as Madonna walked by at a news conference for her movie “W.E.”

The Globe and Mail reported it was an outside firm responsible for the superstar’s security that gave the order.

Madonna’s spokesperson insists neither the star nor her security staff gave the instructions.

TIFF officials said this flies in the face of how they operate.

KiSS 92.5’s morning show co-host Roz Weston shared his view on why so many were quick to judge Madonna.

“Because they don’t think it’s that shocking. I think that it’s the kind of story that makes you roll your eyes, but you kind of go, ‘ah, it’s Madonna,’ and then it sets in and you realize that something has to be going on because it is a little bit too ridiculous,” Weston said.

He also pointed out that Madonna has gone out of her way to stop for fans at the film festival and has publicly thanked film volunteers.
