TORONTO, Ont. – Former U.S. President George W. Bush will no longer be coming to speak in Toronto next week.
Bush was supposed to speak next Tuesday at a private breakfast hosted by Christian school Tyndale University College and Seminary but the school’s website says it has been called off due to a “scheduling change”.
Thestar.com has reported that news of the former president’s appearance generated controversy and sparked a petition with one employee resigning in protest.
A university spokeswoman confirmed to The Toronto Star that the breakfast was cancelled but could not provide any further information.
