Man suffers broken bones after running in front of TTC bus

TORONTO – A man in his 20s has been injured after being struck by a transit bus in Toronto.

Police say the man was jogging when he ran in front of the TTC bus and was hit near Brimley Road and Danjohn Crescent, north of Finch Avenue East, around 10 a.m.

The man has been taken to Sunnybrook hospital with multiple broken bones but police say his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Police say there were seven or eight passengers on the bus but they were not injured but the driver is in shock.

Officers are still trying to determine why the man ran in front of the bus.

The incident comes less than a week after a 43-year-old woman was killed and 13 others were injured when a TTC bus crashed into a flatbed trailer carrying a crane.
