A new study finds, bilingual babies maintain a flexible vocabulary as they grow up, which boosts their speaking ability as toddlers.
Children are born with the ability to learn more than one language but that starts to fade by age one.
Researchers in Washington have found that babies raised in bilingual households show a longer period of being flexible to different languages — especially if they hear a lot of language at home.
The study is published in the Journal of Phonetics.
