Researchers are looking at how tropical plant extracts could be used in the battle against ovarian cancer after discovering the extracts can kill tumour cells.

Scientists at the University of Portsmouth say the discovery is a first.

Research is now being done to find out if the chemicals and other ingredients found in plants from tropical regions could form the base of new medicines to combat ovarian cancer.
