Want to hang out with some great Canadian authors?

TORONTO, Ont. – The Toronto Public Library workers union is holding an essay and video contest called “Why My Library Matters to Me?”

The Toronto Star reported the winners will get to hang out with great Canadian writers, including Margaret Atwood.

She has been at the forefront of the fight over possible branch closures as part of deficit cutting measures under consideration at City Hall.

The contest opens for submissions at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25.
