Researchers finds too much salt can affect brain health

TORONTO, Ont. – Studies have already shown consuming too much salt and being inactive can lead to heart disease, but now a new study shows, the same combination can be bad for brain health.

Researchers at the University of Toronto looked at the salt intake and activity levels of more than 12-hundred people over three years.

They found those with the highest levels of sodium and the lowest levels of exercise had poorer cognitive performance than their more active peers, who ate less salt.
