Man, 18, charged with Internet luring and extortion involving girl, 14

PORT HOPE, Ont. – An 18-year-old man from Port Hope, Ont., faces charges in an alleged Internet luring incident involving a teenage girl.
York Regional Police said a man persuaded a 14-year-old girl to send him explicit pictures of herself.
Police alleged the man threatened to distribute the images unless the girl sent him more photos.
Investigators made an arrest on Thursday in the community 100 kilometres east of Toronto and seized evidence.
Tim Jansen is charged with luring a person under 16 and extortion.
He is due in a Newmarket court, Friday.
