Firefighters investigate two arson fires at apartment building in St. Catharines

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – Fire officials are investigating two cases of arson that occurred within moments of each other at the same apartment building in St. Catharines, Ont. early Saturday morning.

Firefighters arrived at an apartment building on Vine Street in the southern Ontario city at around 1:00 a.m.

They evacuated the building and quickly extinguished a fire on the fifth floor.

Another fire was discovered moments later in a common area on the eighth floor.

The residents again left the building and that fire was also extinguished.

Fire officials say both are considered to be arson and police are looking for suspects.
