Driver evades police twice before being arrested for drunk driving

WASAGA BEACH, Ont. – A 17-year-old male accused of drunk driving went to significant lengths to evade police in southwestern Ontario early Sunday morning.

Police say they cut the car off outside of a campground near Wasaga Beach shortly after 3 a.m.

The driver then drove away as police approached the vehicle.

Police then stopped the car a second time.

The driver of the vehicle then tried to reverse away from the officers but lost control and rolled the car into a ditch.

The 17-year-old from Springwater is facing multiple charges including impaired operation of a motor vehicle and is expected to appear in court in October.

No one was injured in the incident.
