Man hit by truck while walking along highway southwest of Ottawa

LANARK COUNTY, Ont. – A young man is dead after being hit by what appears to be a transport truck early Saturday morning, while walking along Highway 7 in Lanark County near Ottawa.
Police believe the man was walking on Highway 7 near Innisville Road around 3:30 a.m. when he was struck by a large vehicle.
Sergeant Christine Ray of the Ontario Provincial Police told 680News that they are currently looking for any witnesses.
“We are, at this time, attempting to locate anyone who has been in the area between 2 and 3 in the morning, traveling on the highway…”
“[We are looking for] anyone who might have seen something or may have some information about this incident,” said Ray.
The highway is currently closed for a police investigation and an autopsy has been scheduled to determine cause of death and identity if the victim.
