SIU sides with police in arrest of G20 protester on summit weekend

TORONTO, Ont. – Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit has sided with the police in the arrest of G20 protester Adam Nobody.

SIU director Ian Scott concluded that there were no reasonable grounds to charge any officers with a criminal offence to the protester’s injuries.

A Toronto police constable was charged with assault with a weapon in connection with nobody’s arrest in December 2010.

Nobody sustained a fracture below his right eye, and was treated as an outpatient at Toronto East General Hospital.
