Vaughan hit-and-run leaves young man in hospital

VAUGHAN, Ont. – A man in his 20s was left badly hurt after what appears to be a hit-and-run in Vaughan.

The incident took place at the Colossus Centre movie complex in the Highway 7 and Highway 400 area just after 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police are looking for the vehicle that struck the man, and investigators say it may have been a black SUV.

York regional police sergeant Laurie Perks told 680News the incident may have started with an argument between two groups and ended with the victim being run down.

“At this point we’re still trying to determine exactly what happened,” she said.

“It appears that a male may have been struck by a vehicle and he suffered serious injuries that have him remaining in hospital.”

Police are asking witnesses to come forward with additional information.
