Man sentenced to less than five years for Swiss Chalet stand-off

TORONTO, Ont. – A 51-year-old man has been sentenced to just less than five years for last July’s three hour long robbery and stand-off at a Swiss Chalet location on the Queensway.
The court heard that the bankrupt former mechanic from Nova Scotia was living out of his van at the time of the robbery.
None of the staffers was hurt and no shots were fired.
