Woman charged with stabbing her sister at barbecue in east-end Toronto

SCARBOROUGH – A family barbecue in Scarborough has ended with one sister in hospital and another in police custody.

Toronto police told 680News they were called to a home in the Pharmacy and Danforth Avenue area around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning for a stabbing incident.
 
Upon arrival, police found their victim stabbed and cut six times around the head and neck area.

The victim was taken to hospital where she was stitched up and sent home. Her injuries are non-life threatening.

The sister of the woman, who police said is in her early twenties, has been charged with aggravated assault in the incident.

They said there appeared to be an ongoing family dispute between the sisters.
