All eyes on Canucks goalie Luongo in Game 7

Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final between the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins goes Wednesday night, and all eyes will be on Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo.

In what has looked like a “Jekyll and Hyde” show, Luongo’s critics can be put to rest if he continues his strong performances at home.

The Canucks goalie was the front-runner to win the Conn Smythe Trophy, before he imploded in all three games played in Boston.

Luongo gave up all eight goals in Game 3, then another three goals in games 4 and 6 before being pulled in both.

It’s been a different story in Vancouver however, as Luongo has posted two shutouts, while giving up only two goals in the three Canuck wins.

The big difference in this series has been the goalie on the other side of the ice. Bruins goalie Tim Thomas has been magnificent both home and away during the Stanley Cup finals. Many are suggesting he will be named playoff MVP even if the Bruins lose.
