Canucks still favoured to win elusive Stanley Cup

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Canucks are still the favoured team to hoist the Stanley Cup in Vancouver, says one Las Vegas bookkeeper.

The Boston blowouts have affected the stats a bit says oddsmaker Andrew Patterson with Las Vegas Sports Consultants.

“They are at about a 60 per cent chance of winning.  So compared to Game One they were closer to $2 favourites or a 66 per cent chance of winning.  So the odds have come down significantly. I think a lot of that has to do with the pressure [Roberto] Luongo is feeling after struggling in Boston.”

So, how does the home ice advantage factor in?

“They have been underdogs in all three games at Boston and favoured at all three games at home. The home ice definitely does play an advantage by having the last shift… and having the home crowd behind you.”
