VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Canucks’ head coach Alain Vigneault has confirmed that Roberto Luongo will start between the pipes in Game 5 Friday night at Rogers Arena.
Speaking to the media at the arena Thursday evening, Vigneault said “you can bet on that” when asked if it would be his star goaltender in net.
Backup goalie Cory Schneider relieved Luongo in the third period of Game 4.
Luongo allowed a total of 12 goals between Games 3 and 4 in Boston, both losses for the Canucks.
The Stanley Cup Final is tied 2-2.
