Politicians holding first major post-election question period

OTTAWA, Ont. –  The politicians are back on the hill, Tuesday, holding their first major question period since the May 2 federal election.

A session was held on Monday, but it was overshadowed by the budget.

The big issue being debated is the budget, with the opposition questioning the government’s numbers.

MP’s are also staying true to their promise for more civil discussions within the House of Commons. The house remains quiet and there are no reports of heckling as the opposition NDPs question the Harper Government about spending cuts, tax credits and initiatives for seniors.

This is a completely different story from last session, when there was a lot of shouting and screaming from both sides.
