Hackers break into Conservative website, claim Harper choked on breakfast

TORONTO, On. – It appears no one is safe from a hack attack, not even Stephen Harper.

The Prime Minister’s Office has confirmed the official Conservative website was hacked earlier this morning, carrying a health scare story about Harper.

The story appeared on Conservative.ca, and stated the Prime Minister was eating breakfast when he choked on a piece of hash brown. The post said his wife Laureen called 911, and Harper was rushed to Toronto General Hospital.

“Someone gained unauthorized access and posted a false story. We are looking into it,” Director of Communications with the Conservative Party Fred DeLorey said.

Meanwhile, it seems someone has already claimed responsibility for the post.

A link attached to the “Contact” section of the Conservative website directed visitors to the Twitter account for someone in the United States with the username “LulzRaft.”

LulzRaft tweeted: “Working on a nice juicy release. This one may piss off a few of them Canadians,” and shortly after “any bets on how long until anyone notices my ‘special article’?”

The notice on the Conservative website has since been taken down, but not before it spread like wildfire on the Internet with people re-tweeting it, including  Ajax-Pickering Tory MP Chris Alexander.
