Relationship advice for Canucks fans hurt in the past

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – After being hurt so many times before, can long-time Canucks fans finally let themselves take the relationship to the next level? News1130 is getting some counselling as the team gets ready to play for the Stanley Cup.

Who better to talk to than certified relationship counsellor Rosalyn Dietz from Compatible Introductions? She’s been making and maintaining relationships since the Canucks made their NHL debut in 1970.

Her advice is to tear down that emotional wall Canucks fans have built around their hearts to protect themselves from repeated pain.

“We have to learn to move forward, incorporate and learn from the past,” she says. “Experience the failures to also enjoy the success.”

In other words, open yourself up to the fear before you can take your relationship with the Canucks to the next level. Of course, it would help if they continue their winning ways.

“I’m looking forward to victory!” laughs Dietz.

As Elton John and Kiki Dee so deeply and eloquently put it: “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” Canucks.
