Man in critical condition after hit and run in Mississauga

MISSISSAUGA – Peel police are on the scene of a hit and run in Mississauga.

Officers told 680News it happened at around 5 p.m., Thursday, at a Petro-Canada station at Truscott and Southdown Road.

A gas station attendant in his 60’s was struck by a vehicle when the driver attempted to steal gas. The vehicle then fled the scene.

Police say the man was rushing to a trauma centre in Toronto and is in critical condition.

Constable George Tudos told 680News police are trying to figure out what happened.

“We have our Major Collisions Bureau team on scene now and they’re going to be attempting to reconstruct the accident scene,” said Constable Tudos.

Police are searching for a gold, mid-size, sedan with possible damage to the vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle has been described as male, black, between 20-30 years old.
