Tory supporters gather at headquarters

CALGARY – The Conservative campaign headquarters were decked out in Tory blue Monday night, everything from the graphics on the wall to the massive Conservative logo over the stage right to the blue chairs on the floor.

The first supporters have walked through the door and at the moment they’re confined to the lobby eating hors d’eouvres.

“We’re prepared for all options, senator marjorie le breton said. “I’m optimistic about us getting a majority. But this is a strange election in terms of where these numbers are going to break.”

Stephen Harper isn’t there yet. He’s spending most of the night with family members until the results are announced.

Earlier Monday, a smiling Harper arrived at his polling station at an elementary school in Calgary with his wife Laureen and his two children by his side.

Harper said nothing to reporters as he entered the school but pandemonium soon erupted as the Conservative Leader paid a surprise visit to the children at the school as he left.

Hundreds of children were playing outside the school on recess at the time.

Harper waded through a crowd of hundreds of kids who screamed and gave him high fives as he walked to his motorcade.

Before walking back onto the motorcade, he told reporters that it is a great day, the sky is blue and he will accept the verdict of the people.
