Missing Sault Ste. Marie girl located after mother turns herself in

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. –  Police in Sault Saint Marie say a missing girl has been located after her 21-year-old mother turned herself in.

Officials told 680News the girls’ mother turned herself in to police Monday evening.

Police say the girl is in good health.

The Ontario Provincial Police issued an Amber Alert early Monday for the little girl after police in the northern Ontario city said she was abducted after being dropped off for a scheduled visit with her mother.

The Amber Alert was cancelled earlier in the day but police continued to search for the missing girl.

Police say the mother now faces charges.
