OPP charge Auburn, Ont. man with sexual assault dating back to 1980’s

TORONTO, Ont. – Ontario Provincial Police have charged a man in connection with sexual assault incidents which allegedly took place while the accused was a member of the Catholic clergy in the 1980’s.

Police said the 54 year old man is from Auburn, which is 100 kilometres north of London. He has been charged with three counts of sexual assault.

In February, investigators began looking into allegations of sexual assault on a woman while she was a teenager in the early 1980’s.

The accused turned himself in on April 8, and is expected to make a court appearance in Sarnia on May 16.
