Durham police search for suspect after cab driver assaulted

OSHAWA – Durham Regional Police are looking for a suspect after a taxi driver was assaulted in Oshawa.

On April 12 at approximately 3 a.m., the victim was driving home in the Dean Avenue and Ritson Road area . He came to a stop sign where he was approached by a man in a beige Chevrolet SUV.

The suspect got out of his vehicle and asked the victim what he was doing in the area.

The victim then got out of his vehicle and was knocked to the ground and kicked several times by the suspect.

The suspect fled then the scene.

The taxi driver managed to drive himself to hospital.  He suffered several injuries including a dislocated shoulder.

The suspect is described as male white, approximately 40-45 years old, 5’9”, 190 pounds with a brown/grey goatee. He was wearing a white baseball hat, white baseball shirt and blue jeans.
