Nicholas Simons drops out of BC NDP leadership race

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The BC NDP leadership race is down to four candidates.

BC NDP leadership candidate Nicholas Simons has dropped out of the leadership race and is endorsing John Horgan.

In an email, Horgan said, “[Simons] spoke passionately and eloquently about poverty and poverty reduction during the course of the campaign. His participation ensured that this issue remained front and centre throughout the debates. I will carry his vision for poverty reduction forward if I am elected on April 17.”

Simons is a two-term MLA who lives in Powell River. He has also served as Opposition Critic for Children and Family Development and mental health.

New Democrats in BC choose their new leader April 17th.
