Metrolinx purchases rail line along Lakeshore East from CN Rail

TORONTO, Ont. – Metrolinx, which operates GO Train and bus service, has purchased control of the rail lines running from Union Station to Pickering.
The company is paying $299-million dollars to CN Rail for the so-called Kingston subdivision rail line.
Metrolinx says owning the rail line will allow it to improve GO service, and plan future growth.
