Canucks clinch the west with win over Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks clinched the top spot in the Western Conference for the first time in its 40-year history after beating the Nashville Predators 3-1 on the road.

The win was Vancouver’s ninth straight on the road, which sets a new franchise record.

Daniel Sedin had two assists as did brother Henrik. Daniel leads the NHL with 98 points, while Henrik remains tied for second in the league with Tampa Bay Lightning forward Martin St. Louis at 91 points.

Canucks defenseman Aaron Rome notched his first goal as a Canuck, scoring Vancouver’s third goal into an empty net.

The Canucks return home on Thursday when they welcome the Los Angeles Kings to the Rogers Arena.
