Hundreds line up downtown Toronto for iPad 2 release

TORONTO – Friday was a big day for Apple fans as the updated version of Apple’s iPad 2 went on sale to the general public.

Apples latest device has many new features compared to its predecessor. It is thinner, lighter and faster.

CNN and CBS Tech expert Katie Linendoll told 680News that there is one new feature in particular that users will really love – the front and rear facing cameras.

People have camped outside the Apple Store, downtown Toronto, and some have been there since 7:30 a.m., Thursday morning.

Mike, a University student who has been camping outside the Eaton Centre, told 680News that the word is there will be a limit of two units per customer. Some told 680News that the second unit will be purchased for scalping purposes.

“I am going to buy two, one for me and one to cover my cost of lining up,” said Mike.

Blog site users told 680News that most of the blog sites only have a two day supply of iPad 2, therefore, if you do not purchase one now, you could be waiting up to six weeks.
