TORONTO, On. – Mayor Rob Ford is fishing for private sponsors to fund the extension of the Sheppard subway. The mayor’s office has sent a letter to Metrolinx advising the agency of the plan.
It would be a combination of provincial, private, and Toronto Transit Commission funds that would take the line from Fairview Mall to Scarborough Town Centre, Councillor Doug Ford told 680News
It would cost between $3-billion and $4-billion, and would be owned by the city.
Many investors worldwide are hungry to park their cash in a safe project, and the extension would be perfect, Ford said.
