Tiger Woods at his first golf event of 2011

It’s time for Tiger Woods to begin the drive down the fairway to recovery, to reclaim his ranking as the top golfer in the world.
He will be making his 2011 golf debut at the PGA tour starting Thursday at one of his favourite courses: Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, Calif.
Woods has won seven times at that venue, including the last time he played there, in the 2008 U.S. Open.
In that tournament, he beat Rocco Mediate in a 19-hole playoff, while nursing a broken leg.
Woods will once again play with Mediate in Thursday’s PGA round.
He is scheduled to tee off at noon (ET).
