Pedestrian struck and killed by GO Train in Oakville

OAKVILLE, Ont. – A pedestrian has died after being struck and killed by a GO Train near Bronte station.
GO Transit officials told 680News the person was walking on the Lakeshore line tracks and was struck around 12:30 p.m. by a westbound train near the Bronte stop.
The train was holding at the scene for the investigation. GO Transit said the train was carrying about 100 passengers.
Meanwhile, the Union Station train leaving Aldershot at 2:04 Friday afternoon originated at Oakville instead and will not service Aldershot, Burlington, Appleby or Bronte.
Buses are currently shuttling GO commuters between stations.
Via Rail has been impacted by the accident as well, as the Toronto to Windsor train was holding in Oakville, and a Windsor to Toronto train was holding at Aldershot.
