Clark: Second round of campaign starts in northeastern BC

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Considering Canada was playing a gold medal World Junior game and there was a Canucks game after that, it was a good turnout. At least a couple of hundred Christy Clark supporters, many of them new to politics, turned out yesterday to hear her plans to “fix” the Liberal party.

She’s got a lofty goal: To sign up thousands of new provincial Liberal party members ahead of the February leadership convention.

The Liberal leadership hopeful says the second round of her campaign begins in Northeastern BC. “Then I’m back in the Lower Mainland, then I think I’m up in the Northwest, Prince George, Vancouver Island.. We’re going to be everywhere, talking to British Columbians.”

She adds, “This is a chance to revitalize the BC Liberal party. It’s a chance to bring thousands of people who’ve been disengaged from politics in British Columbia in to politics again.”

Clark has several big supporters in her corner, including former news anchor Pamela Martin, Vancouver “condo king” Bob Rennie and publisher Peter Legge.

The Party will choose its next leader February 26th.
