Bell workers share $50-million Lotto Max jackpot

SCARBOROUGH, Ont. – Nineteen workers and two managers at Bell’s Ontario West call centre in Scarborough, have certainly started off 2011 in the best way possible.

The OLG confirms the group of players will share the $50 million jackpot from the New Years Eve Lotto Max draw.

The ticket was validated at a gas station this morning in Scarborough.

OLG spokeswoman, Sarah Kiriliuk told 680News that this win is an exiting one for a number of reasons.

“This is the second largest group win in Canadian history. The largest group win in Canadian history was $54 million, if you might remember a couple of years ago. It was a group of workers in Kenmore, Alberta,” said Kiriliuk.

“This is the second largest group win in Canadian history which is really exciting, and it’s the largest single ticket jackpot win in Ontario.”

The OLG offices are open tomorrow but lottery officials do not know when the winners plan on showing up to collect their big prize.
