London man faces firearms charges after New Year’s Day “celebration”

LONDON, On. – A London, Ontario man rang in the new year with a high calibre celebration.
Members of the London Police Emergency Response Section was already out on a disturbance call when they heard gunfire just after 3 a.m., Saturday
They found a man, standing in a parking lot, firing a semi-automatic gun into the air.
When he saw police he threw down the gun.
Officers recovered a loaded .45-calibre handgun, several spent casings and some live ammunition.
The 28-year-old man is facing a list of firearms charges.
