TORONTO, Ont. – A 22 year old woman has been charged with four offences after workers repairing fire damage at a downtown highrise found a firearm in her closet.
In October, workers doing repairs at 200 Wellesley Street entered one unit, and saw a white box located in a closet.
Police allege the worker opened the box and found a Heckler and Koch model 91 semi-automatic assault rifle.
Shar-Dey Phipps-Walker, who was forced from her unit following the massive fire on September 24, has been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, in addition to two other charges.
She made a court appearance Thursday morning.
