“Total recall” sequel to be shot in Toronto

TORONTO, Ont. – The biggest remake of 2011 could be filmed in Toronto.

The Toronto Star reported that the big budget blockbuster sequel to the movie “Total recall” will be shot in Toronto. The Star also reported that a state-of-the-art waterfront studio is believed to have landed one of the biggest budget movie ever to be shot in the city.

Pinewood Studios has secured $34.5-million from the province to attract big movies to “Hollywood North.”

According to the trade paper “Variety,” Colin Farrell has been offered the role made famous by the Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The film will begin shooting in March 2011.
