News1130 shares Christmas spirit with two families

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Two local single parent families are getting the Christmas of their dreams this year, thanks to donations from our very own News1130 staff.
Anchor Tammy Moyer spearheaded the campaign to raise food, money, and gift donations for the families through the Salvation Army. “I know how tough it is to make ends meet. If you’re not bringing in a full paycheque every two weeks, you’re so under the gun. You see your kid, and you think ‘How can I not give them everything they want?'”
She adds, “It’s nothing to be embarrassed about, we all go through difficult times. It’s so nice to be there to help somebody out through that hump.”
The two families each received toys and a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, plus extra food and gift certificates for days to come.
