TORONTO, Ont. – George Smitherman has been hit with an $8,000 bill from the city of Toronto for election sign violations.
Smitherman’s mayoral campaign manager Bruce Davis told The Toronto Sun they will be contesting the fine and that it is completly ludicrous.
Davis said he personally spoke to sign crews to keep the signs where they were suppose to be and to keep them off private property.
The Toronto Sun also reported that the fine for having a sign on public property is around $25, leaving Smitherman to be in violation of 300 signs in total.
