MONTREAL, Que. – Canada Post has threatened to suspend mail delivery to homes that have Christmas garlands wrapped around the handrails leading up to their front doors.
The Toronto Sun reported many homes in the Montreal south shore neighbourhood have received letters saying the garlands are a hazard to employees.
Canada Post argued lights and other Christmas decorations on stairs make it difficult for mail carriers to hold the handrails and climb the steps.
