Metrolinx, TTC may consider elevated transit

TORONTO, Ont. – Metrolinx and the TTC have received their marching orders from Mayor Rob Ford.

He has pledged to move future transit underground to avoid disrupting car traffic.

The Toronto Star reported transit agencies are looking up and wondering if an elevated rail line might not be a better, a cheaper alternative.

The TTC is considering elevating part of the planned Eglinton LRT.

Vancouver already has such a system that goes over the cars.
