Fire destroys house under construction in York Mills

TORONTO, Ont. – An early morning fire, Tuesday, destroyed a large home under construction in the Yonge Street and Highway 401 area.

A tiny section of wall is all that’s left standing of the home on Yorkminster Road.

The rest of the walls and the roof collapsed inward and were reduced to a pile of charred debris.

The fire started at around 5:30 a.m. and the flames quickly spread, shooting up about 100 feet into the air.

Fire crews managed to contain the blaze, but the home’s structure was destroyed.

No injuries were reported, and no one was in the home at the time.

Firefighters were concerned because there were some propane tanks at the site.
