Malls overflow with last-minute shoppers

TORONTO, On. – Christmas is days away, and even those who are scheduled to be at work have hit the malls.

People are power walking up and down Yonge and Bloor, using office time to run last-minute errands.

Eaton Centre shoppers, Natasha and Jessica, were missing from work for about two hours, and equipped with a hand full of bags, they still managed to grab a bite to eat.

“I think half of us walked out around 12 p.m., and I’d be surprised if anyone is back there before we are. We’ll see,” said Natasha. “Jess had to get her gift wrapped. So, we had time to go eat and come back and get the gift.”

The ladies said they aren’t too worried about what their bosses will say because they too are culprits of this last-minute holiday shopping.

“They are around. They do see it. But I think they are also guilty,” Jessica said.

It is a long week for those on the clock until Christmas Eve, many saying they’ve been on Facebook, Twitter and shopping online to pass the time.
