Classes, exams resume at YorkU

TORONTO, Ont. – York University has reopened its main campus, Wednesday, after a boiler room fire forced a two-day shutdown.

All exams scheduled from Wednesday until Friday will continue as planned, according to university officials.

Exams that were cancelled on Monday and Tuesday will be rescheduled. Visit YorkU.ca for more details.

The fire on Monday happened in a utilities building at the Keele campus, which damaged some boilers and left the campus without heat.

About 4,000 students in residence had to spend the two nights in hotels or with family and friends.

A number of returning students showed up extra early to the campus Wednesday, to make sure their exam is still on and to get some last-minute study time in.
