Rogers awarded largest wireless contract in Canadian history

Rogers Communications has announced it will now be the primary supplier of mobile wireless products and services to the Canadian government.  

The four year deal is said to be worth about $117-million.

The deal includes two one-year extension options.

Rogers says the agreement will see it provide cell phones and blackberries to 90 per cent of all federal government wireless subscribers.

Rogers stock saw a bit of a jump after the news was reported, closing at 35.55.

Rogers is the parent company of 680News.
