Father and son in hospital following stabbing, stand-off with police

TORONTO, Ont. – A father and son are in hospital following a stabbing and subsequent stand-off with police Friday afternoon.
Police responded to a stabbing call on Laurel Avenue in the Kennedy and Eglinton area, where a man with a knife barricaded himself inside a house.
Officers found that the suspect’s father had been stabbed, and he was immediately taken to hospital.
“The suspect remained on scene, armed with a weapon, and at some point, the suspect exited the home when shots were fired,” Const. Wendy Drummond told 680News.
Drummond said the suspect was shot a number of times, and was then rushed to hospital.
The condition of both men was not known as of Friday evening.
The SIU has been called in to investigate.
