Organizers of anti-HST move forward with recall campaign

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Today’s the day organizers of the Fight-HST campaign forward a recall application to the Chief Electoral Officer.  They’re focusing on Liberal MLA Ida Chong.

The Minister of Sciences and Universities is just the first of a possible 20 candidates targeted by the recall campaign.

Chong represents the Oak-Bay-Gordon Head riding on Vancouver Island.  If the recall application is approved canvassers have 60 days to get signatures from 40 per cent of voters.

Over the weekend dozens of protesters gathered on the steps of the legislature to drum up support and to voice their hatred for the Harmonized Sales Tax.

The next politician facing campaigns are MLA’s Terry Lake and Don McRae.
