Ford to select right-wing council allies to form administration: reports

TORONTO, Ont. – Mayor-elect Rob Ford has reportedly selected three long-time allies and a right-leaning councillor to fill four of the most important positions in his new administration, according to reports.

The Globe and Mail has learned Ford could announce his team Monday.

The position of chair of the Toronto Transit Commission, one of the most high-profile roles, will be handed to Karen Stintz.

Stintz, one of the councillors who did not support Ford during his mayoral bid, would be taking over from Adam Giambrone.

A councillor who did stand behind Ford during the campaign, Mike Del Grande, will reportedly be appointed budget chief.

Doug Holyday, veteran Councillor for Ward 3 – Etobicoke Centre, is expected to be named deputy mayor.

City councillors will be sworn in on December 1.
