Oshawa gives parking offenders a chance to give back with 'Toys for Tickets' program

OSHAWA, Ont. – Drivers who receive parking tickets will have the opportunity to give back this holiday season through the ‘Toys for Tickets’ program.

From December 1 – 10, drivers issued tickets by the city of Oshawa have the option of donating a toy in lieu of a payment.

All toys will be donated to the Durham Regional Police Service food and toy drive, and distributed to children in need for the holidays.

Drivers given tickets for illegal parking in wheelchair accessible spaces, however, will not be eligible to participate in the program.
